As a follow-up to a previous post, “When to Break the Rules,” here’s an article about twelve grammar rules up for debate. (If you’re a so-called “language purist,” you may want to stop reading now.) Depending on the job, I’m a stickler for the rules when working but am willing to loosen up a bit with more informal writing – although it never hurts to spell check an e-mail. At the end of the article there are links to a few related pieces, including a review of common grammatical mistakes and a quiz.
